Answer the following questions at the endHealth insurance has become a proxy for measuring access to care for millions of Americans. The Affordable Care Act reduced the uninsured, especially for Hispanic and African-American populations(Blumenthal & Abrams, 2020). However, several states sued the federal government challenging the requirements to expand Medicaid to cover individuals and families that typically could have not qualified and the old rules. In 2012 the Supreme Court ruled that states can not be coerced to expand Medicaid(Persily, Metzger, & Morrison, 2013). Several states, primarily conservative-led(legislatures or governors) Southern states, have not expanded Medicaid, including North Carolina. Millions of American lack coverage because of these leaders decisions. In those states, what is the impact of those decisions? Why, in your opinion, are the arguments for not expanding Medicaid insurance coverage? Do you agree with their reasoning? Why or why not?
