    Note – you may answer this question by focussing on the impact of big data on education.
    Structure
    The structure of your essay must include the following parts. The suggested word count is to provide you with a guide.
    Heading, which will be your essay question
    Abstract (approximately 100 words)
    Introduction (approximately 100-150 words)
    Body of your essay (approximately 2650 words)
    Conclusion (approximately 100-150 words)
    References (not included in the word count)
    Read the question carefully and identify what they are asking for. You can agree with the thrust of the question, or you can take the counter argument. For example, in question
    How are new technologies transforming education?
    You may want to argue that technological advances are NOT transforming education. The most important thing is that you use the literature to support your argument.
    We are asking you to focus on one country only. For questions 2, 3 and 4 you must focus on one part of the education system (e.g. secondary schooling or higher education). For example:
    What factors determine what is taught about gender and sexuality to young people in Australian secondary schools?
    The first question is about transitions so you may mention two education sectors.
    Please pay attention to the country or countries discussed in the texts you use. The findings from a study based in one country may only be partly relevant to the situation in another. You may need to briefly explain the relevance of the research findings.
    Literature
    You will need to cite least 10 academic sources (e.g. peer reviewed journal articles). The majority of the literature you cite must be in English (at least 80 per cent). If you cite literature that is in a language other than English, you need to include a translation of the title in the reference list.
